TC681EL - Dual View Clock with Temperature and Comfort Level

HOW TO SET THE TIME ALARM ON MY TC681EL?

To set the clock alarm, turn the ALARM knob, moving the smallest ALARM hand to the desired alarm time. Release the ALARM knob and slide ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The alarm for the clock is set.

HOW TO DISABLE THE TIME ALARM?

Slide the ON/OFF switch on the main unit to the OFF position disabling the clock’s alarm

WHAT SHOULD I DO DURING AN INITIAL PRODUCT SETUP?

Remove the protective plastic screen (if any) from the LCD displays.

Insert the batteries into the remote temperature and humidity sensor first then insert batteries into the main unit.

During initial setup in order to work properly, all remote sensors must have the batteries installed before the main unit.

DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS FOR 6 MINUTES.

During this time the main unit and remote sensor will start to communicate to each other and the main unit will show both the indoor readings and remote readings.

WHAT IS PROGRAMMABLE TEMPERATURE ALARM?

Your product TC681EL allows programming of a HIGH and LOW temperature alarms for all three remote channels. Once the actual remote temperature will reach the pre-set high or low limits, the alarm will sound. The alarm can be set for temperature readings between -58 °F and 158°F.

WHAT IS A COMFORT LEVEL MEAN?

This product is capable of detecting and displaying the current indoor comfort levels of surrounding environment. The comfort level is displayed on the weather station portion of the main unit’s display. It is based on the combination of the current indoor temperature and humidity readings. There are following comfort levels may be displayed: COMFORT (comfortable); WET (wet); DRY (dry) and No Indication.

WHERE DO I PLACE A REMOTE SENSOR?

Please, place the remote temperature & humidity sensor in the area you intent to measure environment conditions.

Example: If you wish measuring an outdoor environment conditions, place the remote sensor outdoors. If you wish measuring an attic environment conditions, place the remote sensor to the attic, and etc.

Outdoors the remote sensor should be placed in a dryer, shaded area. Fog and mist will not harm the remote sensor but direct rain must be avoided.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE WEATHER FORECAST UPDATE, AND WHAT PERIOD DOES IT COVER?

The weather forecast is updated every 12 hours and covers a period of time from 12 to 24 hours ahead, starting from the first time when the unit has been powered up.

HOW TO ENTER INTO AUTO-SCANNING MODE?

Press and hold the CHANNEL button for 2 seconds – the icon “P”    will appear on the main unit display above the COMFORT LEVEL indicator. The indoor temperature and all 3 remote temperatures will be displayed one-by-one automatically for 4 seconds each in the following sequence: Indoor, Channel 1, Channel 2 and Channel 3.

To exit from scanning mode, press and hold the CHANNEL button for 2 seconds, and the icon “P” will disappear, returning the main unit display to the default display mode.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND MAIN UNIT IS LOST?

If the main unit display mode for the remote sensor reading shows dashes (- - -), press and hold the SEARCH button for 2 seconds to begin a new signal search (the signal search icon will flash above the remote channel number).

If the signal isn’t received within two minutes, please make sure that:

  • The remote sensor is in its proper location.
  • The distance between main unit and remote sensor is not over 100 feet (30meters).
  • The path between units is clear of obstacles. Shorten the distance if necessary.
  • Fresh batteries are installed correctly in both remote sensor and main unit.
  • Batteries were inserted into the remote unit first and the main unit next.

If there is still no communication, please perform the following steps:

  • Bring the main unit and remote sensor close together.
  • Remove the four (4) small screws from the back of the remote sensor with a small Phillips screwdriver and open the battery compartment.
  • Remove the batteries from the battery compartment and reinstall them in the same manner. Remote sensor LED indicator will flash showing transmission of the signal.
  • Remove the batteries from the main unit and reinstall them in the same manner.
  • The remote temperature appeared on the main unit’s display will show that transmission is being received successfully.

HOW TO ACTIVATE THE BACKLIGHT?

You can activate the backlight for a short time period by pressing SNOOZE/LIGHT button on the top of the main unit.

HOW LONG DOES THE BACKLIGHT STAY ON?

The backlight will stay on for 5-6 seconds if the LIGHT/SNOOZE button is pressed.

HOW LONG THE BATTERIES LAST IN THE UNIT?

The average battery life in the device is 12 months.
